iPhone App store the missing feature….
by jandrews on Aug.22, 2009, under General Discussion
I have a first generation iPhone. I’ve bought a bunch of crappy apps, and a lot of really great apps. Time and time again I go to the app store hoping to find something. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t. Then there are times I just want to browse the store. I find a lot of applications that seem interesting, but I don’t want to buy it at that moment. The problem Apple has failed to give you a mechanism to bookmark them. There is no iTunes app store “wish list”. Therefore weeks go by and I forget about an app that may or may not prove to be useful.
Every e-commerce engine on the planet has a wish list feature! Why not Apple’s iPhone app store?

I guess you just have to write it down. I know it sounds out dated, but until they fix it what else can you do? I don’t have an iPhone yet (was going to get one here in the Philippines but the plans are ridiculous here for Globe telcom) so I am not sure if you can search by name, but I assume you can. Still I agree, book-marking should be an automatic with any kind of online store ect.

I don’t see Apple really doing this. Im more likely going to just “buy” that $1 item than brew around and think about it. What im more curious is how state laws that requires returns affects the iTunes store. I have not read that actual law yet but in Mass stores has to give 30 days. This may only apply to physical items and not digital items (Games purchased at a store…etc).
Not having any real refund mechanism is also another problem. But at the typical price point most people don’t care. BUT I do have a few $20+ apps that I would be rather upset if I wanted a refund.

but it’s not the $1 apps I want to wait on it’s the $10 apps. As for mass return laws I know you aren’t suppose to be able to return Games or Videos, unless they are defective and only then for a a non defective version of the same product. As for refunding. They do have a mechanism, I have gotten refunds on apps that were $2-$3 before because they sucked.
